For our last survey, we asked how you made Valentine’s Day extra special this year or any year. And your answers showed that Synergy readers are a romantic lot!

One survey participant met her husband-to-be in l966 and he proposed before shipping off to Viet Nam. They didn’t marry, however, and were apart for almost 40 years until they found each other again and wed in 2009. But the couple had second thoughts and decided to divorce. “On Valentine's Day, we were in court, seconds from being divorced, when we looked at each other and decided to stay married,” our reader told us. “We are very happy and our story is a very romantic one!”

Most of you opted for special dinners either out with your honey or at home (one reader topped off the evening with a heart shaped cake!). You gave special Valentine’s Day cards, too. “I made my husband's lunch for the day and tucked a homemade valentine along with it,” a survey participant shared. “Inside the card I wrote: ‘Take love, multiply it by infinity, spread it across the universe...and this still would not show how much I love you.’"

Synergy readers described a variety of other personal surprises for their Valentine’s Day sweeties – including a surprise date to a museum, a sleigh ride, a night at a comedy club, a getaway to an ocean-front hotel, and plenty of roses and chocolate. One romantic hubby put Valentine cling decals on the window of his wife’s car. Another couple attended an old-style silent movie, complete with organ accompaniment.

We selected a participant at random, Heather B., to receive a $ 50 Visa gift card. Thanks to everyone who answered the survey with your truly heartwarming tales!
