The results of our "What’s Your Best at Work Stress Buster" survey are in

Last month, we asked how you relieve stress at work when you are anxious, tired or even feeling a little testy. And the subject seems to have touched a nerve – in a good way. In fact, we had our biggest survey response ever from Synergy readers!

Congrats to Kevin H. of Tampa, Florida! We selected Kevin’s name at random from all the participants in last month’s survey and he’s the winner of a 100 percent stress-free $50 Visa gift card.

So how does Kevin, who works with patients in the healthcare field, chill out at work when he needs to?

"Whenever I become stressed, I always think about the positive things in my life rather than dwelling on the negative things that can create the stress," Kevin tells Synergy. "Just something as simple as thinking of my little baby cousin or maybe my favorite show does the job and reminds me of the brighter side of things."

What were other survey respondents’ choices for de-stressing? Stretching your legs by walking around the building (over 25%), followed closely by taking a break to talk to friends or colleagues.

Other favorite ways to relax and recharge at work (in order of the most votes):

  • Taking a bathroom break tied with stretching and deep breathing
  • Getting a snack
  • Visualization techniques
  • Meditation
