CT scan

CT stands for computerized tomography. In this procedure, a thin x-ray beam rotates around a patient. Small detectors measure the amount of x-rays that make it through an area of the body. A computer analyzes the data and creates a cross-sectional, 3-D image of that area of the body. CT scans are very detailed and provide excellent information for the physician.
