We asked you to tell us about the strangest exercise you’ve ever done, and from the responses, we gather that we have some create readers. Our winner is Chris.
Here is her story.
I "catercise" with my cat, Binks. I hold her with my hands underneath her belly and stretch my arms out so my hands are on either side of her belly, squared off by her 2 pair of legs. Then we catercise, I lift her up and stretch my arms to the left, then back center and to the right. The extra 10 lbs of Binks helps tone my side muscles. Then I lower her and stretch my arms toward the floor with one hand in front of the other (the cat now faces forward with my left hand facing right under her back belly and my right hand facing left under her front belly) and swing her between my legs, stretching my calves. Works great, although Binks still weighs 10 pounds.
Here are some snippets from some of the other great responses we received:
• I try to make an effort to find small ways to exercise throughout the day in addition to gym workouts during the week (such as taking the stairs or parking far away). The strangest one of these little exercises I do would have to be performing squats while brushing my teeth. My husband gives me the strangest look when he sees me do this, but I think he’s slowly getting used to my quirks. Squats are a great lower body exercise, and working in some sets while I brush my teeth is multi-tasking at its best!
• I have twins, a boy and a girl, who are now 4. Well, you know how children like to be played with on the floor. So what I do is lay on my back and bend my knees and, one at a time, let them lay on my knees. Then I rock them each 10 times. After that, I do leg lifts while they are laying on my knees. At this point they are hanging on me, and it almost looks like they are standing on their heads. We do this 10 times each and then start over. I tend to wear out a little faster than they do. But it is fun and lots of laughs. They are my little trainers because they want me to do it again and again.
